TomTom has been chosen to supply Subaru’s new infotainment platform with TomTom Maps, its mapping technology that captures and maintains relevant roads for turn-by-turn and automated navigation, search and display in real time. This includes navigation software and a new user interface that will permit drivers to plan their journeys easily. The tier 1 system provider, DENSO is the leading supplier of advance automotive technology.

TomTom also announced a deal with Huawei Technologies on the use of its maps and services on smartphone applications. Due to the the blacklist by Donald Trump, Huawei had to develop its own operating system for smartphones. Without Google’s Android operating system and apps such as Google Maps in new phones, Huawei may utilize TomTom’s maps, traffic information and navigation software to develop applications for its smartphones.
