Google Pixel 4 running Android 11 (Android R) caught on Geekbench, Developer Preview coming soon?

We are already a few months into the new Pixel devices (Pixel 4) and also the new Android version (Android Q or Android 10). Now it is time to talk about the next version of Android that Google is working on, i.e. Android 11 (Android R).

Though it is still some time before we actually get to see the final version, the developer preview of the new Android version could soon be available. And, if the latest hint is anything to go by, then Android 11 developer preview may arrive as soon as March this year.

This latest hint comes from the Geekbench database listing, where Pixel 4 device has been found running on the Android R or Android 11. As per the listing, the device (6GB RAM variant) scored 712 in the single-core test and 2,181 in the multi-core test.

Though the listing does not say anything about the Android 11 developer preview release date, the latest spotting is in-line with the previous trend, hinting a release sometime in March this year. A quick Google search will reveal that such listings usually pop-up about a couple of months before the arrival of the developer preview.

Thus, there are chances that Google will follow the same pattern this year for the Android 11 developer preview as well. Users, however, should take this listing with a pinch of salt as we have no way to verify the authenticity of the listing.

Following the release of Android 11 developer preview on Pixel phones, the search giant will likely come out with the Android R beta program at Google I/O, which usually takes place in the first half of the year.
