Hot on the heels of Doom
Eternal getting a run out at QuakeCon, a trio of classics from the
series have found their way onto Xbox One. They are Doom (1993), Doom II (Classic)
and Doom 3, but will you be tempted in by these low-priced re-releases?
First up is Doom (1993), the first-person shooter that initially introduced a ton of gamers to the space marine and his fast-paced demon-slaying antics as he fights through hordes from Hell – literally. Priced at just £3.99, it also includes the 9 additional levels brought about by the Episode IV: Thy Flesh Consumed expansion.
Then there’s Doom II (Classic), which is cheap as chips at £3.99, allowing those who purchase it to get involved in this sequel and start blasting with brutal Super Shotgun; especially useful against the deadlier demons, and the rather infamous boss, the Icon of Sin. In addition, there are 20 extra levels to play through that were created by the community in the form of The Master Levels. Both of these games are geared up for 4-player local co-op and multiplayer too.
Finally, we have the most expensive of the bunch, but still fairly low-priced, Doom 3. For a grand total of £7.99, you can experience the action-horror re-telling of the original Doom by taking on an infested facility, before entering the abyss to battle Hell’s mightiest warrior; all in aid of putting an end to the hellish invasion. Best of all, it includes the Resurrection of Evil and The Lost Missions expansion packs.
All three of the games can be found on the Xbox Store as of
right now! Be sure to let us know if you’ll be picking either of them up by
