If you don’t play games, but want to experience Mads Mikkelsen, Norman Reedus, and Léa Seydoux in Hideo Kojima’s latest game, Very Easy Mode is for you.
Hideo Kojima, creator of the Metal Gear series, will release his first independent game since leaving Konami on Nov. 8. But Death Stranding isn’t just for gamers to enjoy, movie lovers will be offered a way to experience it, too.
As Polygon reports, Kojima tweeted late last week that he’s decided to include a Very Easy Mode in Death Stranding because that way movie fans can enjoy it. Clearly he’s realized because the game contains a number of high-profile actors, people who don’t play games may still want to experience the story played out in the action title.
Normally there’s only Easy Mode, but we added Very Easy Mode for movie fans since we have real actors like Norman, Mads, Lea starred in. Even Yano-san who never completed the 1st stage of PAC-MAN, was able to complete the game on Very Easy Mode ???????? https://t.co/fMZmuZltZw

Death Stranding is a huge project for Hideo Kojima and his studio Kojima Productions. It’s been in development since 2015 when a partnership was announced with Sony, which also made it a PS4 exclusive. With each of the Metal Gear Solid games shifting millions of copies, everyone is eager to see what Kojima produces free from the shackles of Konami, while Sony will be hoping he continues his run of hits.
Kojima describes Death Stranding as a new type of action game where all elements of the story and gameplay are interlinked. Add to that an actor list including Norman Reedus, Mads Mikkelsen, Léa Seydoux, Margaret Qualley, Tommie Earl Jenkins, Troy Baker, Lindsay Wagner, and even Guillermo del Toro puts in an appearance, and it makes sense to entice non-gamers to pick up the title. Whether they’ll be willing to pay $60 and buy a PS4 to experience the game is another matter.
As to what the Very Easy Mode experience will be, I think we should expect action scenes where a player can usually fail being replaced with predefined action that doesn’t block progression. In other words, anything that could stop the story from progressing will be disabled and/or replaced.
