Samsung Galaxy S8 owners are increasingly concerned that they will not receive the update for Android 10 and One UI 2.0. Samsung usually only offers two important operating system updates, and the handset launched with Android 7.0 for 2017 already had updates for Android 8.0 in February 2018 and Android 9.0 in February 2019 and is not currently included in the Android 10 beta.
The One UI 2.0 Beta is based on Android 10 and offers improved readability of the lock screen, a new design for notifications and a modified dark mode for notifications, browsers and many system apps. Andriod 10 itself comes with a new, dark, iOS-like gesture control and improved notification functions.
Sammobile is now reporting that Samsung customer service representatives have again confirmed that both the Galaxy S8 and S8 + will receive the update for Android 10 and One UI 2.0.
Support staff are known to provide incorrect information. Therefore, the devices may stay in touch with Android Pie forever.
In the Android 10 related news, Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9 users will receive the update two months later than originally expected and will postpone the release date from January to March.
