A New Bug in WhatsApp Beta Is Cutting People’s Status Updates

Some WhatsApp users are currently experiencing a problem with the text status updates. Some user reports suggest that they are unable to see the complete text status updates. This problem affected iOS beta users who are running the version 2.19.80. Moreover, some Android users also confirmed that the bug exists in the Android version too.

WhatsApp users who are enrolled in the Google Play Beta Program have recently got a sneak peek of three new features with the latest release. Facebook has recently announced that From Facebook feature would now be available in all of its services including WhatsApp and Instagram. It seems like the company is all set for its public release because the latest update added WhatsApp from Facebook to the WhatsApp application. You can enable the tag now from the Settings menu. This change is a part of Mark Zuckerberg’s efforts to unify the most popular Instagram, WhatsApp and Messenger products.

Finger Print Unlock

WhatsApp is testing the fingerprint unlock feature for Android users. The feature is currently available for WhatsApp beta users who are running Android version 2.19.222. They can enable the Finger Print Unlock by heading towards the Settings > Account > Privacy section. Additionally, if the fingerprint unlock is enabled, an option allows you to hide message content in the notification section. Those who are using WhatsApp widget won’t be able to see the message content.

Under Age Account Ban

Starting WhatsApp beta version 2.19.222, the company is going to ban all those users who are below the minimum age limit. The management updated the minimum age that is required to register on WhatsApp last year. According to the new TOS, you need to be at least 16 years old to use the service in the European Region. Moreover, those who are living in other regions should be at least 13 years old. The new Terms of Service lists the eligibility criteria:

You must be at least 13 years old to use our Services (or such greater age required in your country for you to be authorized to use our Services without parental approval). In addition to being of the minimum required age to use our Services under applicable law, if you are not old enough to have authority to agree to our Terms in your country, your parent or guardian must agree to our Terms on your behalf.

As of now, WhatsApp didn’t reveal how the company is going to enforce the underage account ban. The users are eagerly waiting for all of these features. However, the Facebook-owned company has not officially announced any release date yet.
